Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro review: What's good?
The Redmi Note 9 Pro looks much better than its predecessors, and it looks a lot cleaner with a glossy finish and a gradient colour finish on the rear. The phone has a glass-like finish that attracts smudges easily, but it is not slippery. On the front, the Redmi Note 9 Pro gets a 6.3-inch display that is bright and colourful, with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro gets a 6.26-inch FHD+ display. The resolution on both phones is 1080 x 2280 pixels. While the display on the Redmi Note 9 Pro is brighter and has a better contrast ratio, the aspect ratio on the Redmi Note 7 Pro is more suitable for a phone with such a large display. The Redmi Note 7 Pro’s screen has a taller 19:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 355 ppi.
The dual-rear cameras on the Redmi Note 7 Pro are a step up from the Redmi Note 6 Pro's cameras. The Redmi Note 9 Pro’s cameras are similar to the Redmi Note 6 Pro's dual-rear camera setup. While the primary 12MP sensor has a f/1.8 aperture, the 5MP secondary camera has an f/2.2 aperture. The secondary camera allows users to shoot Bokeh shots, and it also supports portrait mode. Both the phones use a monochrome dual-camera setup on the back.

On the front, the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 20MP secondary camera offers a wide angle lens for better portraits. The Redmi Note 7 Pro’s front camera offers a Portrait mode, something that is missing from the Redmi Note 9 Pro's front camera. While the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.9, the Redmi Note 9 Pro only has a wide angle lens with an aperture of f/2.2. The Portrait mode is also not available on the Redmi Note 9 Pro, though.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro’s selfie camera is a bit more vibrant than the one on the Redmi Note 9 Pro, though both phones can take good shots in well-lit conditions. Photos look good and the selfie camera on the Redmi Note 7 Pro gets a bokeh mode. Redmi Note 9 Pro users should wait for the Redmi Note 7 Pro's selfie camera to get similar results.
