Xiaomi Poco X2 arrives in the U.S.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, is getting into the U.S. smartphone game with the release of the Poco X2.
The phone is a lower-cost alternative to the flagship Poco F1 and sports a glass back. It also boasts a more attractive design than the original Poco X1.
Xiaomi is calling it an “All-Screen phone,” so if that means there’s no notch, we’ll take it. The Poco X2 also features a 6.2-inch 2,340 x 1,080 LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 6GB of RAM power the X2. It also features a 12MP+5MP dual-camera setup on the back and a 20MP selfie cam up front.
The Poco X2 ships with Android 8.1 Oreo with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin on top. It comes in three colors, including Aurora Blue, Black Gold, and Platinum Gold.
The Xiaomi Poco X2 will cost $300 for the base version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There are also versions with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $330 and with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $350.
Of course, Xiaomi’s release of the X2 comes just a few days after Huawei unveiled the P20 family in Paris. Huawei’s P20 Pro is the first phone to feature three rear cameras, but it also costs twice as much as the Poco X2.
Pricing on the other models wasn’t announced.
So far, the Poco X2 has not been officially announced for other international markets outside of the U.S.
