Xiaomi Poco M3, Poco m3 With 6 GB RAM, 32 GB Storage Announced

The company also unveiled Xiaomi Poco M3 smartphone in India for the first time. The smartphone will be available via Flipkart, Mi Home stores and Mi Preferred Partner stores from August 29, and will be sold at a starting price of Rs. 20,999 (roughly Rs. 20,300). Xiaomi also announced the Poco F1 Armoured Edition with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Xiaomi also showcased the global launch of the Xiaomi Poco M3, and the smartphone will also be available in India from September 12 via Flipkart. There is no word on whether the Xiaomi Poco M3 will be launching in India, and it could be postponed to the second week of the month due to Diwali.

In addition to the Xiaomi Poco M3, Xiaomi also showcased the Poco F1 Armoured Edition, which is available only in India. The smartphone packs a special Kevlar body, and is available in India exclusively via Flipkart. This is the first time when Xiaomi has announced a special variant of any smartphone in India, and it will also be the company's first phone to offer the Kevlar body. The company has collaborated with SST, a subsidiary of TAS, to develop the smartphone, and will give 5 per cent discount to SST employees and all customers buying this smartphone will also get a free earpiece cover with a noise cancellation receiver. It is also Xiaomi's first Armoured Edition smartphone, and the company is calling it as a 'Black Halo'.

Xiaomi Poco M3 specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Xiaomi Poco F1 runs MIUI 9.6 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and sports a 6.18-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. There is an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/ 8GB of RAM.

The Poco F1 bears a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The rear camera setup comes with Dual Pixel autofocus, EIS, and supports AI portrait 2.0. The company is also touting a customised portrait mode using AI and EIS. On the front, the handset gets a 20-megapixel selfie sensor, coupled with an LED selfie-light. There is 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

Connectivity options on the Poco F1 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. It also bears a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, with support for fast charging (Quick Charge 4+).
